Blue Rooster Project Launching

52 Division, 14 Division and the members of Chinatown Business Improvement Area gathered in the center of Chinatown to announce the starting of Blue Rooster project. Blue Rooster is a 10 weeks project that focusing on crime prevention, local disorder issues related to theft from autos, shoplifting, panhandling, public intoxication, drugs and any related problems.

Police will conduct workshops and presentations to raise awareness for seniors in the area of Chinatown. These Seniors Safety Campaign workshops will be conducted in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. This will provide information against such fraudulent scams as the Canada Revenue Agency telemarketing scam, identity theft and Power of attorney abuse.

“It’s the seventh year that Chinatown BIA work with 52 Division; many thanks to Toronto Police, Chinatown is becoming a better place to shop and live.” Vice Chair of Chinatown BIA Peter Chen said.

Toronto Police Constable Chou encourage local business owners and visitors who witness any suspect activity should contact police immediately.
