The aim of the Chinatown Business Improvement Area (CBIA) is to
enhance the vitality of the Chinatown area through business
promotion, interacting with the City of Toronto and other
statutory and voluntary organizations, and ensuring that the area
continues to be an integral part of the local economy of Toronto.
As representatives of the business and resident community within
Chinatown, our role will be to:
- Lobby local and central government on local areas of
interest
- Establish closer relationships with the Toronto Police
Service and other bodies, to combat incidents of crime and other
related matters
- Coordinate enhancement projects that will attract more
visitors and tourists to Chinatown
- Seek fair and just representation in mainstream media on
matters significant to the area
- Circulate on a regular basis, a newsletter translated into
appropriate languages for relaying important community
information
This by no means is an exhaustive list and we, Chinatown Business
Improvement Area (CBIA), are seeking to enhance our role within
the area by embarking on a membership drive. Your contribution and
involvement will only empower the organization to be more powerful
when interacting with various voluntary, local and central
government bodies when dealing with local issues.
We’re seeking to organize you, businesses within the area, to join
this new and vibrant body and are inviting you to our
presentations and workshops, in addition, welcoming you to
